About this Item

First edition. One of 300 copies signed by Cole Porter, unnumbered so presumably one of 50 presentation copies not for sale. Original red, white, and blue silk, lettered and ruled in gilt. Very Good overall. The unusual silk binding was quite prone to wear along edges; this copy has fraying along edges of the spine, exposed tips, white silk shows foxing, but better than average shape overall. Contents show slight age-toning, otherwise excellent. A deluxe signed edition of the Cole Porter musical's music, lyrics, and piano accompaniment including "It's De-Lovely," "Ridin' High," "You're a Bad Influence on Me," "What a Great pair We'll Be," and six other tunes. The book was designed by Ernst Reichl, also known for designing the ultra-modern first American edition of James Joyce's Ulysses two years earlier.
