First edition. Octavo. 233pp. Quarter red cloth and black paper-covered boards. Lower shoulder with a tiny bit of loss to the cloth and some rubbing and a bit of frass on the obttom edge, very good in near fine dust jacket with evidence of a very faint stain on the inside only of the jacket. Signed by Moses; and additionally Inscribed by Cobb, Jr.: "To Michelle - Among the best and most beautiful to come from Africa. In these pages perhaps you will see some connection between the Mississippi and the Zambezi. Anyway, I toss this book to you from my side of the river. Charlie Cobb." Laid in is an Autograph Note Signed by Cobb to the recipient, sending the book along. Robert P. Moses, educator and civil rights activist, was a leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee; since 1982 he has worked on the Algebra Project. "The author tells the story of his participation in the voter registration movement in Mississippi in the 1960s, and explains how he used what he learned through his Civil Rights work to establish the Algebra Project, a program dedicated to resolving the crisis in math literacy in poor communities" - [publisher's summary].…
