Very Fine first edition hardcover in Very Fine jacket. SIGNED (not inscribed) by Gorman on the half-title page. Red cloth boards with silver lettering. Gorman tells of his childhood in Chinle, Arizona near the mouth of Canyon de Chelly. He describes the influence of painters such as Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco as well as Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. Contains 170 illustrations, including 127 plates in full color. M00919.
