This work chronicles romance and romanticism in motion pictures from the silent era. It is both a guide to selecting a movie and a lively and insightful history told in depth. The main text goes decade by decade and juxtaposes trends in romance in film against historical events and fashions to show how depictions of love and sentiments of romanticism in movies reflected and influenced their times. The book contains photographs, illustrations, an appendix, and a bibliography. This copy is clean and solid. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, inscribed on the title page.
