First edition. 12mo. One of 300 copies. Original sewn green wrappers, printed black. Author's presentation copy, inscribed by Greene on the front blank "For John & Gillian, a happy Christmas & lots of love from Graham." A fine copy. John and Gillian Sutro shared a close friendship with Graham Green which begun with Mario Soldati's introduction of them in Rome in 1947 and continued for the rest of their lives.
