BOOK DESCRIPTION: 12mo, plate, portrait. Original printed, stapled wrappers. The second paper only, complete as issued. Inscribed "Compliments of the Writer, Henry H. Baker" on front cover. Laid into custom made archival case of leather spine with raised bands, leather corners, and marbled papers. CONDITION DESCRIPTION: The original pamphlet is in fine condition without any obvious wear. The attractive archival case is fine with minimal shelf soiling; constructed by a skilled book-binder. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: During the Civl War, the Washington Artillery's four companies served in the Army of Northern Virginia and a fifth company was in the Army of Tennessee. Elements of the Washington Artillery participated in over sixty major actions. A few notable engagements include: Battle of Antietam, Battle of Perryville, Battle of Gettysburg, Battle of Shiloh, Battle of Chickamauga, Battle of Fredericksburg, First Battle of Manassas, and the Battle of Cold Harbor. This second paper includes description of Washington Artillery activities in the following places: 1st Manassas, Va; Fredericksburg, Va; Gettysburg, Pa. Quite scarce and rarely offered for sale. Here in fine collector's condition with custom-made case.
