Richards, went on to write four 'Hildegarde' sequels; 'Hildegarde's Holiday', 'Hildegarde's Home', 'Hildegarde's Neighbours', and 'Hildegarde's Harvest'.Richards was an American novelist who wrote more than ninety works during her career, including more children's books, as well as biographies and poetry.
