1/250. Elephant folio (18 1/4 x 12"). Unpaginated. [15] loose double-leaves in blind white wrappers, housed in a half linen over blue cloth chemise, in full blue cloth slipcase. The chemise is blue-lettered along spine. Colophon hand-signed and numbered in pencil by the artist. "A Pride of Rabbis" is a collection of satirical and ribald poems regarding rabbis written in the style of midrashic discourses. This work is splendidly illustrated throughout with 13 irreverent, humorous full-page linocuts by Cyril Satorsky, all hand-printed on sumptuous rag paper. One of 250 signed and numbered copies printed on Hosho paper under the artist's supervision, of which this is No. 191. Minor shelf-wear and soiling to slipcase.
