SIGNED by author CORMAC McCARTHY in black felt tip pen on half-title page. A rare signed first printing of "All the Pretty Horses", without inscription. The original first edition, Knopf 1992, first printing. Condition: fine/near fine/fine. Black hardboards with black cloth spine; gold printing; corners square; spine bottom lightly tucked. Text block clean, tight, square, unmarked, appears to be unread; has tiny dark speck on top edge (smaller than a flyspeck) that does not respond to light eraser, so is now part of the book. Pristine glossy original pictorial dust jacket with price on the flap, correct ISBN on back cover. Protected in clear archival Brodart wrapper (removable.) More pictures on request. Packaged with care and shipped in a box to arrive in best condition. Choose free shipping for free priority mail. "The romanticism of 'All the Pretty Horses' contrasting with the bleakness of 'Blood Meridian', McCarthy's earlier work, brought the writer much public attention. A bestseller, it won both the U.S. National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. It is also the first of McCarthy's Border Trilogy, all of which are written in an unconventional format which omits traditional Western punctuation such as quotation marks and makes use of polysyndetic syntax in a manner similar to that of Ernest Hemingway. The book was adapted as a 2000 film starring Matt Damon and Penélope Cruz and directed by Billy Bob Thornton." (from wikipedia).…
