Near fine with some dulling of the gilt on the top edge, a few nicks at the spine extremities, light rubbing at the tips, and the hinges starting. This copy bears the bookplates of Sir Squire Bancroft and Peter Kerr on the front endpapers. Signed by Lowell and dated in early 1885. This book was signed toward the end of Lowell service as the Ambassador to England.
