First American signed limited edition, number 11 of 537 sets signed and numbered by the author in the first volume, 525 of which were for sale. It was preceded by the British signed limited edition, published the previous year, in which Richards notes that, according to the Kipling Journal for January 1930, the text was revised throughout by the author, "with numerous emendations and explanatory subheadings". Some previously unpublished material was included (six additional poems in the "The Muse Among the Motors", together with a new act and additional notes for "The Marréd Drives of Windsor"). Richards A396; Stewart 575. 3 vols, quarto (260 x 190 mm). Facsimile manuscript with tissue guard in vol. I, title pages printed in red and black. Contemporary red three-quarter morocco by the French Binders, New York, spines lettered in gilt, compartments bordered in gilt, red marbled sides, brown marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, others untrimmed. A few small marks to bindings. A bright set.
