"The community of Pleasant Hill has long suvived the persons who organized it, and who used their talents and skills to construct sturdy buildings. About the village lies a broad farm of excellent pastures and fields. Today farmers are still harvesting from the fields excellent crops of tobacco and grain. There are still traces of Shakers on the land. A study not only of the Shakers, but of the changes which occurred in the Ohio Valley and the Nation during the Century of Shaker activity."
