Item description from seller

First Edition. Hardcover. Signed and inscribed by Brian D. Parker to previous owner in ink at title page. 9 1/4" X 9 1/4". 131pp. Book presents nicely with unclipped dust jacket encased in protective sleeve. Very mild shelf wear to covers, corners, and edges of jacket. Corners of gray paper over boards are gently bumped. Pages are clean and unmarked. Binding is firm and sound. ABOUT THIS BOOK: Playing with Napkins' is a surprising collection of temporary art made from napkins, sweetener packets, and spoons. It is a Sunday morning hobby turned obsession that is sure to bring smiles. You will see four spoons transformed into Mount Rushmore, foil butter-wrapper stars in Van Gogh's 'The Starry Night' and cellophane from a day-old pastry raining on 2nd Avenue in Nashville. Your will be chased by bandits in Spain, laugh on the kitchen floor with my mom, and spend fifteen minutes alone in the crown of the Statue of Liberty. You can also watch me behind the scenes. Some art pieces also have videos of the creation process linked to QR codes - yet another fun, unexpected layer of the book. 'Playing with Napkins' inspires grins and new perspectives."(Publisher).

Store description

Underground Books, ABAA is an online rare and antiquarian bookshop, founded in 2011 as a brick and mortar general bookstore of the same name in downtown Carrollton, Georgia, which is now operated by out former store manager as The Underground Bookshop. Co-owners Josh Niesse and Megan Bell met in 2011, just 10 days or so after Josh opened the doors of Underground Books, literally underground, several steps below street level in a 100-year-old basement in our historic downtown. Megan, an English student at the University of West Georgia, walked in, fell down the rabbit hole, and never left! Reader, we married in May of 2014, under the book arch that now resides at the bookshop. We are both proud alumni of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS), and Megan additionally of Rare Book School at the University of Virginia and of the ABAA Women’s Initiative Mentorship Program. Like many booksellers with open brick-and-mortar stores, we are passionate generalists, but our specialties are in decorative publisher's cloth bindings; fairy tales, folklore, and mythology; popular science and natural history; the occult; and fine press books.
