Item description from seller

This is a scarce signed/inscribed copy of "PENCIL POINTS TO MURDER - A Christopher Storm Mystery" by Willetta Ann Barber and R.F. Schabelitz with its original dust jacket. 1941 1st edition (stated); Published for "The Crime Club" by Doubleday, Doran & Co.; Garden City, New York. This copy is signed and inscribed by Willetta Ann Barber in pen on the front end paper, as follows: "July 1941 To Annie - In the hope that this may while away a dull hour. (Miss Billie) -Willetta-Ann Barber." Illustrated. Red topstain. The book is a traditional whodunit mystery novel featuring recurring protagonist, Manhattan commercial and police sketch artist Christopher "Kit" Storm. Storm works as a commercial artist who also assists the police by sketching crime scenes and physical clues by hand instead of relying strictly on photographs. The novel belongs to a unique, highly illustrated mystery series where actual sketches drawn by Kit Storm (created by co-author and illustrator R. F. Schabelitz) are embedded directly into the text as tangible visual clues for the reader to solve the crime. The story is typically narrated by Sheridlock "Sherry" Locke, Kit’s partner/fiancée, and follows their involvement in unravelling a puzzling homicide using artistic observation, line details, and visual evidence captured "on the spot." Condition: Mottling to the cloth on the covers and spine. The front cover has staining at the bottom edge. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. The pages are lightly toned, and mostly clean with only an occasional mild foxing spot here and there.
