One of only 200 copies issued in hardcover (the scarcity of the hardcover editions of this book and Grey Fox's He Who Hunted Birds in His Father's Village is seldom recognized). An account of his travels through India with Ginsberg, Orlovsky, and Kyger (his wife at the time), based on diaries and first begun as a letter to his sister. With black and white photos by Snyder.Beige cloth with gold lettering on spine, with no dust jacket as issued. This copy is near fine with light bumping to the spine crown and a previous owner's Ex Libris stamp ("The Hungerfords") on the the front free endpaper along with "Berkeley 1964" written in the upper corner in ink.
