Add to basketSigned and Inscribed copy of one of Janet Flanner's most loved works. This is a 3rd printing of the hardcover, inscribed on the front free endpaper in characteristic shakey hand "to Bill Dale with best regards." Above that Bill Dale has printed his own name and marked "Christmas 1972" in sharpie. No marks besides these, the interior is bright and clean. The binding is solid, sound, tight, square. Black cloth is clean with occasional dust spotting, but attractive, and with bright gilt lettering. Red topstain has a couple of lightly rubbed parts but still bold. Dustjacket has very minor chipping at corners as well as at the crown of the DJ spine, where there is also some light creasing and a small closed tear. Some other light wear besides, but overall attractive, and DJ now in brodart. Laid in is a flier for a reading event by Flanner where it is presumed that Bill Dale obtained the authors signature.
