SIGNED AND DATED BY THE AUTHOR with no inscription. "Now The Rest Of The Story." This three volume set of books was presented to USAF Major General Hoyt S. (Sandy) Vandenberg, Jr. by the author on behalf of William F. Pisenbarger. His son Airman first class William H. Pitsenbarger, an Air Force Pararescueman, was KIA in South Vietnam in 1966 aiding and defending a unit of soldiers pinned down by an enemy assault. He was posthumously awarded the Air Force Cross. Through the efforts of General Vandenberg and others, the Air Force Cross was later upgraded to the Medal of Honor. Volume one of this set is warmly inscribed to General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, Jr. for his kindness and to the memory of Airman William H. Pitsenbarger. Laid in is a eight page history of the Medal of Honor recipient and the citation of his heroic actions.
