Octavo, 318 pages. In Very Good minus condition. Bound in publisher's olive green cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Sunning to spine and around edges of boards. General shelf wear, primarily to head and tail of spine and to corners of boards. Binding beginning to loosen with gutter visible between front free endpaper and pastedown. Age toning throughout textblock. Inscribed by Lippmann on front free endpaper: "No doubt it takes courage to say 'I will live my own life;' it takes more than courage to live it. / Walter Lippmann January 12, 1914."
