Signed presentation from Stevenson on the front endpaper, to an Emory University history professor: "For Bell I. Wiley, with admiration and affection, Elizabeth Stevenson." Wiley was a pioneer in the social history of the American Civil War. With a pencil notation underneath the presentation, probably by Wiley: "From Yesteryear Bookshop, Feb. 20, 1979."
