Signed by Alan Watts on the front free endpaper in orange marker and inscribed to the former owners, "For Dorothy and Harrison with love from its author - Alan" with his name in Chinese characters below. A zig zag glyph, perhaps a sigil, is written on the verso of the jacket at the spine panel in orange ink, possibly made by Watts. [xvi], 400 pp. Bound in publisher's saffron orange cloth stamped in black and silver. Near Fine with slight lean to binding, slight staining to top edge of text-block, light wear at crown with gift slip laid-in, "Happy Birthday to Dad! After you call last night, I ran to the Quill [Quill and Brush?] and found this for you - a little soul fool before your upcoming visit with Alan Watts. (Maybe he will autograph it.) Can't wait to hear about what he says. Enioy! Nance." In a Very Good+ unclipped dust jacket with fading to spine, small abrasions with closed tearing to spine ends, and light rubbing to covers. Alan Watt's memoir tracking his early days in rural England as a child raised by Christians to his later Eastern religious and philosophical pursuits, signed just a year or so before his death in 1973.
