With text written by Jonathan Fineberg and photography by Wolfgang Volz, this book is the most complete examination of the artistic conception, political battles, and public discourse on Christo and Jeanne-Claude's plan to cover about 6.7 miles of the Arkansas River with a translucent fabric suspended from the banks to allow boat, pedestrian traffic to move unimpeded along the river for about two weeks. The book exhaustively covers the subject from 1992 scouting trips to 2008 and is still not approved in 2015. This copy is in fine condition, a first printing simply signed by Christo on the title page with the bright, dustjacket in clear, mylar covering. Given the size--11"x11.75"-- and weight, additional postage will be necessary for shipping outside of the US.The book will be carefully wrapped and boxed for safe shipping.
