About this Item

First edition of this early work from Selden, author of The Cricket in Times Square. Originally published in 1957 as The Garden Under the Sea, and reissued in 1966 with this new title and with illustrations by Peter Lippman. Dedication copy, signed to the dedicatee Rosalie Ward Jackson, "Dearest Rose, Here is your book - for the second time! I hope it does as well as you deserve - Jerry Thompson (George Selden). Signatures from Selden to friends and relatives often came from "Jerry." Very good in pictorial boards with some light wear at corner tips and spine ends. Jacket shows a few spots of rubbing, wear at spine ends and corners, and a small chip at head of spine, rear panel. Original price of $3.95 in tact with bottom corner of front flap clipped. A beautiful association copy of this charming book from Selden.
