Two soft cover volumes housed in a colorful, pictorial slipcase. Origins of Marvel Comics is First Edition, 4th Printing; Son of Origins of Marvel Comics is First Edition, First Printing. Origins - bright yellow rear cover, white spine, colorful pictorial front cover are all clean and glossy. Just a trace of rubbing at the head of the spine and at the tips of the four outside corners. Light rubbing at the tail of the spine. Binding is straight and tight. Signed by Stan Lee on the title page in black felt tipped pen. Couple faint smudges on the outside edge of the textblock, but pages inside are all clean, white, and crisp. Combination of text and collected origin issues for each of Marvel's mainstay characters. Origins features Fantastic Four, Spiderman, The Hulk, Thor, and Dr. Strange. Son of - white rear cover and spine, colorful pictorial front cover are all clean and glossy. Just a trace of rubbing at the head and tail of the spine and in some places around the outside edges. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. Presented in the same format as Origins and features The X-Men, Iron Man, Silver Surfer, The Avengers, Daredevil, and The Silver Surfer. 254 and 249 pages respectively. Slipcase - Colorful white and red pictorial slipcase is bright and mostly clean - some very faint evidence of handling. Some rubbing at all eight of the corners and along some of the outside edges. Inner board peeks through at the extreme tips of three of the four outside corners. Overall integrity of the slipcase is sound, and it's still attractive. Rare with the Stan Lee signature.
