About this Item

Ink and watercolor on paper. Image measures approximately 5�" x 4" on 8�" x 11" paper, held in a 12" x 13" mat using photo corners (i.e. easily removable). Fine with tiniest bit of creasing to the paper. Signed "Wiley 2006" beneath the image. An image of two figures, similar to Wiley's "Buster Time" but without wings, in cowboy garb; each wears one boot, one wears a hat and the other holds their hat in their hands. Behind them is a setting sun, a tree, and a suitcase with the initials "MBA" ("MSA?"). Wiley is an important American artist; he had is first solo show at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1960, and in 2009 the Smithsonian American Art Museum held the exhibition "What's It All Mean: William T. Wiley in Retrospect." Wiley died in 2021.
