Carhart was a West Point graduate who deployed to Vietnam in 1967, arguably the worst point in the war for American troops. In his own words, he tells a human story about an inhuman war, and the lives sacrificed - their Offering! A brutal, transformative look at a war that traumatized an entire generation. About fine in a very good+ dw with 3-4 closed tears, wear to the extremities and a chip atop the spine. Beautiful full-page INSCRIPTION by Carhart to historian Bruce Lee, author of several books about WWII, and an editor/researcher for renowned authors Cornelius Ryan, Gordon Prange, and Admiral Edwin. T. Layton, among others. In the inscription, Carhart credits Lee with bringing the book to publication.
