This VG- quality book, with 709 numbered pages, is square, reasonably clean, with no edge dings and with the upper rear corner lightly bumped and the lower front corner showing slight wear but no fraying; head and heel of the spine are both lightly bumped with tiny tears but no fraying. Both the front board and spine have a fair amount of wear and soiling, but the blind stamped image on the front board is quite recognizable and the lettering and gilt image on the spine, though worn, are also quite clear. Except for an inked name/date/city on the rear of the front paste down, a 3" x 3-3/4" book plate on the half title page, and the author's inked signature on the title page, the interior is free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. The paper is moderately toned and still quite flexible. There are no illustrations but both end page maps are quite useful in understanding the tale. Though the front hinge is exposed at the title page, both hinges are strong and holding very well.
