Item description from seller

Appears to be inscribed by the author "Robt Shaw Russell with best regards of the Author, 1874" , Robt Shaw Russell (1850-1887). A gripping mid-19th-century travel account charting a global journey via South America, Australia and Asia en route to Delhi. Minturn’s narrative brings together frontier logging, colonial ports, maritime crossings and the final stage of his journey into British India. A superb rarity for travel-writing collectors, especially those interested in early global route narratives and Anglo-American exploration. Author was a Columbia University graduate.
