Second Edition stated at title page. Original blue cloth, octavo, 190 pages. The scarce second edition of Steele's famous cocktail book, the first printing (in 1930) includes the first dirty martini recipe and a recipe for the Margarita (though with a different name). Both recipes are also included in this edition which presumably adds additional cocktails. This copy nicely inscribed and signed by Steele at front endpaper to 'Louis Chateaux of the Old Moreau Restaurant'. Where this old restaurant once existed this cataloguer was unable to determine. An uncommon signature by this cataloguer (and likely inventor) of early important cocktails. Very Good, some soiling and stains to covers, pages with mild wave from moisture exposure (one imagines).
