Sarah Stewart's first book. Illustrated by her husband, David Small, now a Caldecott Medal winner. The two have collaborated on several books since, including the Caldecott Honor book The Gardener. This is a beautiful copy, FINE in a FINE dust jacket, and it is SIGNED by both the author and illustrator, signatures dated 1996 (though the book is a 1991 first printing). Please see photos.
