First edition, first printing. Signed and warmly inscribed by Le Corbusier on the half-title page and warmly inscribed to Vincent Solomita. Solomita (1920-1994), was an American architect who studied and worked under le Corbusier from 1950-55. 240pp. Bound in publisher's original wrappers over card. Very Good with toning to pages, several creases, some stains to the exterior, several page grouping a little proud and several hinges slightly exposed. The first edition of Le Corbusier's major treatise of universal measurement in terms of anthropometric scale of proportions, based on the height of man with his arm raised. It was used as a system in the design of a number of Le Corbusier's buildings and was later codified into two books, the first of which is this one. Seller Inventory # 140945209
