Quarter cream buckram with marbled boards. Marking and light staining to the cloth, wear to corners of boards. Foxing to page edges, occasional spotting to the text. Faint musty smell. From the private collection of Edward Hudson, founder of Country Life Magazine. Inscribed to Hudson and signed by the author to front free endpaper: 'To Edward Hudson, in happy acknowledgement of this book, perfectly produced by Country Life, and in remembrance of many years pleasant association with the paper, from Helen Friedlaender.' The author is now best remembered as a suffragette, serving as honorary secretary of a London branch of the Women's Social and Political Union. She was imprisoned in 1912 after taking part in a WSPU window-smashing campaign. Overall condition is Good Plus. Size: 7.5 x 10 inches (19 x 25 cm). Seller Inventory # 1242E059
