Some paste down endpaper wear and ripples. Front cover, top right corner has evidence of pressure. The Dust Wrapper is Near Fine in archival Brodart cover. This Signed First Edition comes with a Pristine Fort Phil Kearny dedication brochure unveiling the National Park Service Plaque designating the Fort as a Registered National Historic Landmark on June 28, 2970. (See Photographs) Bound in publisher's original yellow cloth, spine stamped in blue. With 28 illustrations throughout. Robert A. Murray, a historian, worked for the National Park Service (1958-1968) at Custer Battlefield National Monument (renamed as Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in 1991), Fort Laramie National Historic Site, and Pipestone National Monument. In 1968, he founded Western Interpretive Services, a consulting firm specializing in interpretive services and historical research. His research interests include Western military posts, 19th century firearms, Indian Wars, Plains Indian life and customs, and the fur trade.
