Add to basketInscribed in the year of publication on the half-title page: "To Jessica + Param--Minoayaa umma akiig [Ojibwe, one assumes], Peace on Earth, Winona LaDuke, 2011." A paperback original, uncommon signed. LaDuke is an important indigenous activist and writer. She famously ran for VP of the United States as part of Ralph Nader's Green Party ticket in 1996 and (fatefully) 2000. The publisher of this volume, Honor the Earth, is a national advocacy group that LaDuke founded, and which played an important role in the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. This slim book (at 78 pages) "illuminates the historical context of . the long political and economic relationship between the military and Native America, and the environmental and social consequences." Near fine in wraps with light edge wear and a gentle crease to upper front corner.
