Item description from seller

photos, 254p. Boards. dj (waterstain at top of front panel). 21cm. INSCRIBED by Collett to *Brooks Lawrence (1925-2000), an African American and a former Cincinnati Reds pitcher who is a member of the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Laid in is an undated handwritten prayer or self-visualization letter (probably about 1978) to "Dear & Beloved Universal Mind" for a new home with a two car garage, large bedrooms and a view for himself and his wife Dolly, a job as pitching coach for the Reds, as well as health and prosperity signed "Brooks" [Lawrence], on a sheet of Cincinnati Reds letterhead stationery. We found no evidence that the Reds ever employed Lawrence as a Pitching Coach although they did employ him in other non-coaching jobs.
