Illustrated with 32 pages of half-tone pictures, which include reproductions of many old prints of historical interest, and maps. Signed by Edward Hungerford on the FFEP. First Edition/First Printing. DJ has shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities (DJ is chipped and worn to the spine ends and extremities). Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. The lively story of the building, plundering and regeneration of the first railroad to connect the Atlantic seaboard and the great lakes. "Edward Hungerford (1875 July 29, 1948) was an American journalist and author. His main interest was the railroad, about which he wrote many books and articles.
