NY: Grossman Publishers, 1970. First edition. [130]pp; b&w plates. 4to. Black cloth; dust jacket. Moderate toning to edges of leaves; small chip to jacket front panel at spine. Better than very good. Signed by Freed to title page. Black-and-white photographs by American photojournalist Leonard Freed (1929-2006) documenting the often fraught social and cultural dynamics at play in postwar West Germany. With a two-page introductory text, and brief notes on each of the images. A striking body of work, reprinted by Steidl in 2013.
