Inscribed by the author to the front free endpaper "To T.H.Thomas, Esq. (Followed by a name that I cannot make out, written in Welsh), with the author's compliments and his best wishes. Cardiff, June 21/97. E. Patterson". Endpapers have several newspaper cuttings concerning Patterson and reviews of his later book, Vagabondage.
