Book has a warm inscription from the author and a full page personal note to a friend by Mercedes. She was the beloved pianist at Pat O'Briens back when it was the greatest bar in New Orleans and when the owner, overstocked with rum invented the drink known as The Hurricane. Lots of wonderful pictures. The book has some toning mild edge wear but nothing distracting. The dust jacket was missing the spine but had an intact front back and both flaps so I carefully reconstructed it as best I could in a Bro-dart protector and it is actually presentable but the decorative cloth covers are nearly perfect as well (see scan) RARE! especially with double inscriptions from author and Mercedes herself.
