1st English edition, 1959. A Good copy. 8vo., 500 pp., bound in publisher black cloth with titles in silver on spine. Printed label pasted to the half title page SIGNED by Doenitz. Tips, edges and spine rubbed. Cloth is faded and with scattered soiling. Front hinge is cracked. Text is clean and unmarked. Very RARE signature. Previous owners name inside front cover and on title page, James Braxton Craven III, US Navy, North Carolina attorney. Karl Dönitz ; (16 September 1891 - 24 December 1980) was a German admiral who briefly succeeded Adolf Hitler as head of state in May 1945, holding the position until the dissolution of the Flensburg Government following Germany's unconditional surrender to the Allies days later.
