Medor a stylus in his hand is standing in a landscape, a shepherd and shepherdess with sheep to the left; within a circle on a white background; below circle the coat of arms of Le Tenneur and a banderole with dedication "Illustrissimo Viro D.D. Petro Le Tenneur Ducis Aureliae Aulico Bonarum Artium Amantissimo D.D. Obsequentissimus J. Le Potre". At bottom signed in the plate "Le Potre invent et fecit - van Merlen excud Avec privilege du Roy". 26,9 x 22,1 cm.*Unrecorded 2nd edition published in Paris by Jacques van Merlen/van Merle (Antwerpen 1616-Paris 1682). Cf. I.F.F. XVII, XI, No. 495 (only 1st edition published by Jean I Le Blond). Invented and etched by the famous French architect, ornament designer, etcher Jean Lepautre. - Mounted.
