Original poetry in Vietnamese and French on faces pages by the Vietnamese legal scholar Lưu Nguyễn Đạt.
"Wow! How exquisite! How marvelous and sublime! How unusual! Those were my reactions when first exposed to Lưu Nguyễn Đạt's lines of poetry in this collection. I was struck by the conceptions and executions of exquisite, rarefied feelings, the likes of which I have not seen in contemporary Vietnamese poetry.... Reading the transmutations of these feelings transported me to a realm away from the daily mundane concerns. Reading them far late at night when the rollicking mind waves have settled down to mere gentle undulations gave me a kind of peace and pleasure that no drug of choice could bring. In this collection of poems Lưu Nguyễn Đạt trafficked in repeated far-out images, redolent of suggestive surrealism and magical realism. We met rocks, mists, sun, winds, sleep, sands, blood, and tears interplaying in unusual fashion and high musicality. I urge you to read Lưu Nguyễn Đạt's poems in this collection. I have a lingering feeling that some of his poems will live on forever, not only within the Vietnamese community but also in informed international circles, long after he is departed from this world." -- Roberto Wissai/NKBa
