First edition; 4 vol. 1851 and 1852; Half leather bindings of the time, tight, rubbed at edges, gilt titles on spine with the initials V.S. of the French entomologist Victor Antoine SIGNORET (1816-1889) to whom part II of 1852 is inscribed on title page; the volumes have been used and annotated by Victor Signoret on a number of pages; part I: 368 pages and 11 plates, a hand written alphabetical index of 15 pages has been added in the end by V.Signoret; part II (1852) from page 369 to 592 with 4 plates; part II 1851 from page 261 to 636 with 2 plates; part III: from page 637 to 907.with 2 plates; very scarce and important set although not complete, some parts seem to be missing.insiede very good condition; Seller Inventory # 9371
