Signed by both Hadlock and printer Carl Hertzog on the half-title page. Purple cloth boards with white lettering on spine. Image of a cactus in black on cover. Slight rubbing to edges; very minor bumping to corners; spine is somewhat cocked. Orange illustrated dust jacket with green lettering on cover and white lettering on spine. Jacket is not price clipped. Moderate chipping and creasing to edges; half-inch tear and some wear to top edge of front panel; mild soiling. Tight binding and clean interior. Includes a portrait of Hadlock as a frontispiece as well as a section with 22 black-and-white photos. Adah Hadlock came to El Paso, Texas in 1902 at the age of 20.
