Illustrate with 15 lithographs of women portraits in full-page, 55 decorative lithographs in violet of which two on the cover wraps, and 5 in full page, and 35 lettrines lithographs in violet, all by Matisse and printed by Mourlot. One of the 80 copies of the deluxe edition from a total edition of 270 numbered copies, and one additional suite of 12 proof studies of the lithographs, signed by Matisse in colophon. In artistic binding by J.Anthoine Legrain, in brown and green morocco with floral motif, brown suede liners, half morocco chemise and matching slipcase. Matisse's first collaboration with Teriade.
