Not dated, 1947, inscription is dated 1947. First edition, first impression. Inscribed by Author. Size octavo, 79 pages. Light blue hard covers over red cloth spine section with gilt titles to the spine, with the dust jacket. Book condition good, corners bumped, edges of covers sunned, 1cm at top of spine is faded where part of the dust jacket has come off, pages are toned otherwise clean. Dust jacket condition good, edges of panels and spine a bit sunned, a 2cm tear without loss to top edge of front panel 1cm torn away at top of spine, base of spine and corners slightly chipped, a few tiny nicks to edges, not price clipped. The book is dedicated to E. Warington Smyth and this copy was presented to him by Kathleen Norris and she has inscribed the book underneath the printed dedication; "since all these poems would have been different without our friendship, even if they had ever seen the light. With love from Kate, May 1947" From the collection of Jonathan Gili (1943-2004), film-maker, director and collector of various items, especially signed books. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
