INSCRIBED TO BETTE DAVIS on the front free endpaper as follows: "To Bette Davis | in profound admiration-- | Ira Morris | California. Feb. 8. 1944." Ex Libris Bette Davis [Blue bookplate with a black Scottish Terrier on the half-title page]. Red paper over boards with white letters on the spine. Some wear to extremities with the corners just rubbed through, covers clean and bright, Bette Davis' bookplate in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. Born in 1903 in Chicago, Ira Victor Morris was educated at Harvard and did graduate work in the University of Heidelberg. He worked as a journalist and publisher 1926-1934 and as a freelance writer from 1934 on. Morris was also the author of COVERING TWO YEARS and MARCHING ORDERS.
