First edition copy of Banks' well-known feminist novel telling the story of Jane Graham's solo pregnancy in late 1950's Britain, signed by the author on the title page with the printed dedication crossed out and corrected to 'Jamie' (as is seen in other signed copies), pp. 319. First Edition. Bound in blue-green cloth with gilt titles. Octavo Book in good to very good condition, spine ends lightly bumped, endpapers and textblock edges a little foxed, pages clean, slightly cocked, binding firm. Dustjacket in good conditon, marked, wear to folds with repairs to small closed tears, not price-clipped.
