1st Edition/4th Printing (Oct 1950). SIGNED by THOR HEYERDAHL on a bookplate affixed opposite title page (signature only). $4.00 price present on DJ flap; mylar protected. Also SIGNED by KNUT HAUGLAND on a card attached to half-title page. Haughland was WWII Norwegian resistance fighter and one of the crew members on the Heyerdahl voyage across the Pacific. Haugland was the radio operator and last surviving member of the crew (a scarce signature). DJ rubbed with small chipping on corners and spine ends. 304 pages with eighty B&W photos. Also comes with a very good 1st UDK Edition/2nd Printing of BENGT DANIELSSON's book "From Raft To Raft" that is SIGNED and inscribed by Danielsson (signed 'Bengt'). Danielsson was in charge of supplies and translator on the Kon-Tiki. (also comes with a free unsigned fair-reading copy hardcover, lacking DJ, of UK Allen and Unwin copy of Heyerdahl's 1950 'The Kon-Tiki Expedition") Unique copy for the Heyerdahl-Haugland-Danielsson --Kon-Tiki fan or collector.
