In 2002, she was awarded Outstanding Woman in Arts and Letters from the state of New Jersey for her life-time work in children's books. Steven Kellogg (b.1941) is an author and illustrator of children's books. In 1989 he won the Regina Medal for his "continued, distinguished contribution to children's literature." He has also been the recipient of the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and the Irma Black Award for Excellence in Children's Literature.

Trinka Hakes Noble is an award-winning author and illustrator who has published more than 30 children's books throughout her career.
