DJ: Very Good; light bumping to top edge; closed tear at head and rear flap fold slight sunfading to spine. Maroon cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board. 292 pp 8vo. This is a book of historical fiction that revolves around the real ancestors of the author. It begins in 1839 with German immigrants caught in a foundering boat where one of the survivors marries Thomas York and the eventually came to Kansas to raise their family. Their children raised families in Kansas and were Jayhawk Children. The author then begins her childhood adventures to round out the story. A great tale of early Kansas.
