It begins in 1839 with German immigrants caught in a foundering boat where one of the survivors marries Thomas York and the eventually came to Kansas to raise their family. Their children raised families in Kansas and were Jayhawk Children. The author then begins her childhood adventures to round out the story. A great tale of early Kansas.
